First formed at an open mic in Olympia Washington, Whiskey Strut’s unique blend of country, folk, blues and classic rock quickly caught on in the local music scene.

Brothers Eli (Guitar, Lead Vocals) and Oliver Abrahamson (Fiddle, Vocals) are joined by Alex Courpas (Bass, Vocals), and John Lange (Percussion). The group came together over a shared love of performing live and a desire to take their unique skill sets to a new audience.

Whiskey Strut’s debut album, Heartache by the Barrel, deftly weaves classic country sounds with gritty blues and folk. Songwriter Eli Abrahamson’s lyrics speak of love lost and love found, of good times and bad, equally steeped in playful humor and brooding melancholy. “Beer”, “Heartache by the Barrel” and “8 More Seconds” are toe tapping honky-tonk anthems, while tracks like “Left Behind” and “All Stitched Up” lean in a darker direction, showcasing the band’s range. Through this album, Whiskey Strut adds to a long line of artists who strive to tell the story of the American experience.

Liam Russell is an original Blues/Rock Guitarist, Composer, and Singer/Songwriter based in Chewelah, WA. He was born and raised in Walla Walla, and his passion for guitar started decades ago. In his early 20’s, he hit the Seattle music scene and was gracing stages with an original rock band called Restless Breed. He has also fronted and played guitar for the blues rock band, The Smoking Amish, and the duo, Disturbed Harmony. Liam has released several singles and has had his original song, “Lonely” featured on Chewelah radio. Currently, Liam is playing solo shows all across Spokane and North Idaho. He brings a soothing yet edgy sound that embraces his audiences young and old. From classic rock, to country, to blues, and his originals, Liam is definitely an artist worth checking out!
